What an incredible array of colours now on display here at the garden!

Every week it is a treat for me to walk the garden and see what has changed so dramatically in just a few short days.

There is colour everywhere and my eye is caught constantly by vivid shades of red, orange and yellow.

The Japanese maples are at varying stages of their autumn colour show and some are further along than others. The Osakazuki by the Koi pond is now a rainbow of shades of red, orange and even purples and pinks. Where as the waterfall maple (Acer Palmatum Dissectum Atro Purpureum) has only began showing a few red leaves so far.

With now only 3 weeks to go before we close our gates for the 2025 season, I hope everyone who is hoping to visit can make it – as the colours won’t disappoint. I suspect in another week to 2 weeks we will see the very best display but there isn’t a bad time to visit at this point and there will be plenty of sensational colour to be seen.

Those of you with season passes are welcome to visit as many times as you like over the next 3 weeks – the last day open to the public and for season pass holders is 15th November 2025.

Until that date we are open daily, 7 days a week from 10am – last garden entry will be 4pm when the clocks change from Sunday 26th October, and earlier closing time of 5pm from then too.
