Even with the insane amount of rain that has fallen from the sky this month the cherry blossoms have emerged and they are radiant as ever!

When the cherries flower we always hope for sunny skies and no wind – which allows the blossoms to stay fluffy and beautiful for the longest time… who knows how long they will last with our crazy weather but for right now they are looking wonderful.

Always a special time of year when the cherries flower and although we are still awaiting the pink blossoms (only just budding) the Mount Fuji at our entrance and in the garden are now looking wonderful.

My visit this week had me wondering what the weather would do next – it was overcast to start, then the sunshine came out with some blue skies and then it rained LOL.

Its impossible to know what the day will bring but it made for some interesting photography as the light kept changing.

The cherries are now taking centre stage in the garden but the rhododendrons and many of the azaleas are now also looking tremendous.

Many of the Japanese maples are leafing up – some faster than others but its beginning to look very colourful wherever you look.

Spring is such a joyous time with so much life pushing forward as we look around at all the fresh shoots, buds and colour that’s appearing as if by magic.

The heavy rain has left us with a flooded area which was just beginning to dry up but is now bigger than ever after the rainfall of the last few days – it means the left hand path when you first enter the garden is inaccessible but you can still access all pathways by walking around and coming to the area from a different route – so you won’t miss anything when you visit.
