April has begun and the rain is still coming down!

Its been the wettest spring I can remember and yet the sunshine came out yesterday during my visit to the garden (good timing!).

We have welcomed lots of visitors over Easter and its been wonderful to see so many people enjoying the garden in spite of the rain.

The white cherries have now given way to the pink blossoms and the many azaleas now opening up their beautiful flowers.

The Japanese maples are unfurling their brightly coloured baby leaves and the garden is beginning to look very colourful again.

The large leaf rhododendron by the pond is still looking amazing with its huge flowers and the koi are becoming more active – gradually – as we await the warm temperatures!

We had our HUGE bonsai delivery arrive this week. Which included a variety of indoor species and a few outdoor too. And we couldn’t resist a couple of stunning Japanese imports – a stunning Acer palmatum Deshojo and a Japanese white pine – pictures to follow of all these in the next blog post.

Check out the photos I shot yesterday – pictured below –
