Definitely a strange mothers day for most of us I expect – today I saw my mum through her glass doors as she is in isolation; but it was still wonderful to see her beautiful face and chat to her. I am definitely missing being able to give her a kiss and a cuddle though.

Social distancing is being advised by government and visitors are being asked to keep a safe distance from others – luckily the garden and plant areas are almost all outdoors with the exception of our shop but keeping a couple of meters away from others is still important so we are doing our best to continuously clean and are offering visitors hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities to reduce risk and promote good hygiene.

Today we have been quiet for such a beautiful sunny day; but those who have come in have been lovely and have told us how much they have enjoyed the garden; which makes us staying open so worthwhile.

These are unique times and we are all in this situation together, which I hope will make people think of others. Especially today, on Mothers day, we should all try to do something kind for someone who is in need; perhaps donate food to your local food bank, or offer to get some shopping to someone in isolation.

The more we can do for others, the happier we are as individuals and as a society for that matter.

Being in the garden this morning was a highlight of my week; the cherry blossoms were beautiful, the Koi carp were swimming in the clear water, the sun was shining and it felt like life was normal for a little while. My mood was definitely lifted after my little walk around as it always is.

Please stay safe everyone; and if you think you have any symptoms; stay home and isolate.

Love to all the wonderful mums out there whether they are near or far
