When it comes to repotting this is a must have. A root rake has two ends both incredibly useful when you come to repot your tree. The first is flat and slightly angled which is perfect for slipping down the side of your pot between the compost/roots of your tree and the pot edge; with a little push you are able to winch the roots and compost slightly away from the pot. Doing this on all four sides of the pot before pulling on the truck of the tree allows you to loosen it from the container and it will usually pop out easily (provided its not pot bound). The second tool is for gently raking the compost away from the roots and releasing the roots so you can see what the root system looks like.
