Spring Has Sprung

Its been a whole 2 weeks since I visited the garden and I have truly missed its calming influence. So today I grabbed my camera and headed down for a visit.

There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment for everyone with the pandemic and of course this makes everyone feel anxious. Stuart and myself have taken precautions to keep our staff and the public safe as best we can in our shop and the garden is outside in the open air 😊

My visit today couldn’t have come at a better time and I felt relaxed and revitalised being around all the trees and flowers 🌷 Some of the cherry blossoms are now flowering! The Mount Fuji cherry by the decking area is now looking beautiful 🌸

There are many azaleas now flowering too in several stunning pink colours 🌺 And the large leaf Rhododendron is now showing off its stunningly big buds and a flower or 2 is opening up – this is one I wait for every year with anticipation of the beautiful blossoms.

Many of the acer are now leafing up and some are far ahead of others. Its amazing how nature does everything at its own pace. Although everything is looking beautiful in the garden the crown jewel today was the magnolia – with its stunning purple blossoms covering the tree ; it was just breathtaking! I photographed it for ages 😂

My walk around the garden today has filled me with hope that its going to be a beautiful spring and I have had the pleasure of meeting some lovely new visitors today who loved the garden 💖

With the 2020 season underway (2 weeks in already) we have been busy getting our deliveries in and dealing with storm damage in the garden. Its been non stop since we reopened! 😃 We have had a large Bonsai delivery which has included a few stunning specimens and lots of favourite species including Chinese Elms, Japanese Hollies and Buddist Pines and a new species this year called Buxus – already flowering their hearts out 💓
