September Has Arrived 2024

September has begun and the temperature has dropped almost the second we started the month!

The summer holidays are now behind us which is bitter-sweet – as we were delighted to meet so many lovely people during August who visited us and supported our little business. However now the visitor numbers are fewer we now start some of the bigger jobs on our list for the garden!

Last year – as many of you know – we fully renovated the Koi pond and worked throughout the winter to get the garden ready again for this season. This winter we will be starting another big project – thankfully far smaller than last years – but still going to be a very busy time for us here. I will discuss more on this in the future.

The garden was blessed by glorious sunshine for my visit a couple of days ago, but I was amazed how much cooler the temperature felt. Autumn really feels like its hitting early this year and I am so excited to see our colour change – which usually doesn’t get going until the end of the month – but perhaps might happen a bit sooner this year – fingers crossed!

As the summer retreats we excitedly await the autumn transformation and with over 100 Japanese maples in the garden – its always a beautiful time of year.

The light becomes more and more golden as we enter the autumn and winter months and with so much pruning this season I imagine that light is going to make for a wonderful experience in the garden.

In other news – I launched my handmade artisan soaps a few weeks ago and added a new one this week – Teatree and peppermint which includes French pink clay. Thank you to everyone who has bought one of my soaps – it has become a real passion of mine over the last few years and its so wonderful to be able to share my creations with you all.
