September Arrives 2025

September has begun and it seems the rain has come with it!

August was amazingly dry and we had lots of sunshine and blue skies which was wonderful for our visitors (although I think the garden missed the rain).

September has brought some slightly cooler temperatures and lots of rain which the plants have appreciated massively.

Everything has been freshened by the water droplets and today my visit saw heavy downpours and everything was glistening.

The atmosphere was wonderful today in the garden when I walked the pathways on my visit. The rain adds something special to the place when its pouring down and there is a sound that radiates throughout the garden. It feels like you are miles away from civilisation!

There are a few glimpses of autumn on the way now – with a few leaves changing colour and many leaves beginning to fall.

The pathways were littered with leaves and every gust of wind brought more down (our poor gardeners lol).

Autumn is always the messiest time of year but there is a sense that nature is taking back ownership of the space – which I kind of love.

Its just the beginning of the autumn but it definitely feels like the season has begun here.

Over the next few weeks the spectacular colour show will fully begin and the garden will be transformed in to its vivid autumn shades.

I love it every year.
