The Summer has been a wonderful whirlwind this year – flying by so quickly I almost can’t believe we are nearing the end of August already!
The garden has been loving the mixture of sunshine and rain we’ve had over the last few weeks and our plants have been growing like weeds! Our gardeners have been very busy pruning back this summer and even a couple of huge trees have been hard pruned to bring them down a bit – so excited to see how this will look next year.

It is always lovely to meet so many new people during the summer holidays and to hear the passion so many people have for gardening and Japanese design. We feel very lucky to have such a lovely group of people come to visit our little garden – often returning year after year. It feels like a very special thing and makes all our hard work worth it.
In other news I FINALLY launched my handmade soaps this week! My recipe has been 3 years in the making and I finally got organised to finally be able to offer them for sale in our giftshop. My recipe includes olive oil, mango butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil and castor oil as well as many other beautiful oils which have wonderful qualities for the skin. Using only high quality essential oils and handmade in small batches using the cold process method ensuring the beautiful qualities of the oils, butters & essential oils are retained in the final soap bar. Paraben free & not treated with harsh chemicals so it is important to keep your bar dry & airated between uses. For longevity use a well draining soap dish to make sure your soap is not sat in water.

Last few days of August before we are in to the magical month of September and autumn won’t be too far away.
Hope everyone has had a fantastic summer.
