October is here (our final month open for the 2021 season!).
This month we will see the garden transform from its summer colours to the stunning autumnal tones of vivid reds, oranges and yellows. I find myself so excited at this time of year as we eagerly await the Japanese maples to work their magic.
The exact time to visit to see the acers at their peak of colour is different every year but it seems to be towards the end of October typically. So for those of you waiting to visit – keep an eye on our Blog here and I will do my best to photograph the garden often this month so you can see what’s happening.
Today I visited the garden in the rain and despite getting rather damp, it was magical being in the garden with everything shining and dripping with raindrops.
I was captivated by the droplets rippling on the pond surface and the Koi carp gliding around beneath the water surface.
Visiting the garden in the rain always makes me feel transported away from civilisation; my mind it clearer somehow and the atmosphere always has such a positive impact on me. I could have sat by the Zen garden for hours if I could have today – just listening to the rain tapping on the leaves and rocks nearby.
With us entering the final month that we are open to the public for the 2021 season I feel so grateful for everything that this year has enabled us to do and to everyone who has visited and supported us through, what has been another very challenging season.
Those of you that know me or have visited whilst I have been in the Shop will know that Stuart and myself are expecting our second baby at the end of this year and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has visited, supported us and enabled us to keep going for 2021.
