Spring has well and truly sprung here at the Japanese Garden in Cornwall 🌸 🌱
I love this time of year when the garden is awakening from the winter slumber and newness can be seen everywhere you look. Leaf buds, flower buds and even some flowers already in bloom!
The magnolias are now flowering including the gorgeous pink Stellata Rosea hidden in the bamboo grove.
The plum blossom is blooming and several of the azaleas are now showing off some of their blossoms (although the cream and variegated azaleas won’t be in bloom for a while yet 😉).
The Japanese maples are now budding and the first early ones are starting to unfurl their new baby leaves but the garden still has the wintery look – with the branches and architecture still visible as the foliage hasn’t taken over yet.
Â
The cherry blossoms are now covered in buds and the white blossoms won’t be long now – could be a week or 2 now before they are at their best depending on the weather. Watch this space – I will try to photograph them once they are out in full!
