The garden is flourishing! Everywhere you look there are blossoms ranging in colour; bright red, hot pink and even deep purple.
The azaleas are still stealing the show with their array of dramatic blooms and there are so many this year. The Candelabra Primulas are now looking their best and the patch is covered in the delicate flower circles.
The wisteria is also looking wonderful with its dangling purple blossoms and there are a couple of Rhododendrons now showing off their superb flowers too.
The Japanese Maples are also looking sensational now; with an abundance of leaves in a fantastic range of colours. The reds are vibrant as the sunlight shines through them and the greens look luscious. There are so many acers growing in the garden, and so many of them are now big trees; offering a canopy of colour. I remember my Dad planting many of them in the. they were only a few feet in height. I also spent time watching the Koi today which is one of my favourite activities to do when visiting. They are so graceful and I could lose time seeing them glide around the pond.
I spent my walk in the garden today thinking about how surreal the world is at the moment and how its so important for us to try to see the good in what we have. It is so easy to focus on the negatives and long for the things we don’t have; but seeing the garden today, blissfully unaware of all the pandemic drama, struck a cord with me and I left feeling lifted.
I hope you are all staying safe guys and its going to be so wonderful when we can begin to see your faces again.
