Just 5 days left before we close our gates for the 2019 season! (Last day open 31st October).

Today was absolutely pouring with rain but I was determined to capture some of the colours so this morning I headed down to the garden; camera in hand. The rain was coming down heavy and my poor camera got pretty soaked, but it was so worth it! 😊 The colours of the Japanese Maples are now looking stunning! Several of the feature acers are now looking absolutely beautiful with their autumn shades now vivid in colour. The rain made the garden so atmospheric and I had the place completely to myself for my visit. The light was so different from my visit on Wednesday; rather than golden sunlight it was soft grey with all that rain but the leaves are so brightly coloured that it only added to the photos as the rain drops pattered onto them.

With only a few days to go before we close for 2019 I am feeling so pleased to see the autumn colours in the garden looking so wonderful (as I was worried they wouldn’t get there before we closed this year) and now everywhere you look you can see bright oranges, reds and yellows.

There are still a few maples that haven’t fully turned their autumn shades, but I suspect that they will in the next few days 🤞

Please enjoy viewing my pictures from this mornings visit – pictured below –
