Only 4 days left to come and visit this season!

This year we decided to stay open an extra 2 week until 15th November (usually closing on 31st October) due to the warm temperatures making us wait longer for the autumn colours. We feel that it was so lucky that we did!

Everyone who has made it in to visit over the last 10 days has been able to enjoy the transformation of the Japanese maples from their summer greens and purples in to the fabulous, vivid reds, oranges and yellows that are now popping all over the garden.

There are over 100 varieties of acers in the garden and year on year they change colour at different times. Some are so fast to turn the second we feel the temperatures drop from summer highs to a slight chill of autumn. Others makes us wait for their impressive transformation. This means there is always something different happening throughout autumn and something beautiful to see.

My visit today was filled with autumn splendour!

It felt like everywhere I turned there was a vibrant splash of colour to look at.

The japanese maples take centre stage at this time of year and few other plants can compete with their beauty.

It was a lovely visit for me today and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the garden whilst the clouds blew across the sky.

We have had some fierce wind over the last week or so and sadly this is never what we want for autumn as it brings lots of the leaves down! The poor gardeners!

The wind has eased off today which was perfect for my stroll around the pathways and to capture some photographs of the autumn colour.

With only 4 days left until we close for 2022 I hope that everyone has enjoyed their visits to us this season! Its been another crazy year with everything in flux:  suppliers still struggling to obtain some of our bestselling items, prices increasing across the board and the cost of living spiking upwards at an alarming rate – however we have kept the cost of garden entry the same – there have been no price increases on garden entry, nor on season tickets. We want everyone to be able to afford to visit us so we will keep the price the same as we go into 2023 as well.

Shop items and Bonsai have increased in cost and we have sadly had to adjust prices on many products but we have done our best to keep things affordable and we just hope that things settle down for next year – we can but hope!

For 2023 we hope to be purchasing some new specimen Bonsai – which we haven’t been able to obtain for 2 whole years now! We are awaiting to hear from our suppliers what is available and the cost of these magnificent trees at the beginning of next season – so watch this space.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year – with our new baby’s arrival at the beginning of the year it has been a wonderful, but challenging season! So thank you so so much to everyone who visited the garden, supported us and who sent us positivity by leaving a lovely review or just telling us how much they enjoyed their time here – it means the world to us, it really does.
