July is here and with it has come a slightly cooler temperature. June was such a scorcher with the sun shining almost everyday and the lack of rain was drying everything out so we have been watering frequently to keep the trees and plants hydrated.

July is often even hotter but this year the clouds have rolled in a bit more and we’ve had a cooler breeze and even some rain! (hallelujah).

Walking the garden for my visit it was peaceful and tranquil in the garden.

I found myself at the Zen garden for the longest time just looking at the stones and the moss. There is a stillness in that space that I find so therapeutic when I visit. Usually when its pouring with rain is my favourite time to be there, but this time it was simply overcast, but I really felt that calm, still feeling. Definitely what I need at the moment (2 weeks away from our wedding day!).

The trees are taking centre stage now with only a few flowers now blooming (most have now gone over). The Japanese maples and the evergreen trees give a beautiful contrast of colours; primarily many many shades of green now but with a few pops of orange, red and purple.

Stuart and I are just a couple of weeks away from our wedding now so things are super busy as we prepare for that, but it won’t be long now and my attention will be much less divided and back on to updating the website more regularly!

Thank you everyone for baring with me.

Nat
