August has seen a wonderful mixture of visitors and the garden has been bathed in sunshine and rain 🌞 🌧 the perfect combination to keep everything growing and lush.

It has been quite a surreal time here with deliveries being so delayed and Covid-19 cases climbing higher in the recent weeks. We have maintained all our previous measures to keep everyone safe despite the government lifting all restrictions – our booking system has worked really well to spread visitors out so we haven’t been too busy at any one time and we have continued to ask visitors to wear a mask when entering our gift shop.
I am grateful to everyone who has booked and followed our policies – it has made this unusually busy season so much easier for the team here at the garden and kept everyone safer as a result.

Yesterday I managed to get down the garden for a visit myself and I honestly felt like I could have stayed there for hours. The sun was shining and there was a cool breeze rushing the leaves on the trees.
The crazy heat of the summer is definitely past now and there is a feeling of autumn not to far away.
Autumn is probably my favourite time of year as the light becomes more golden for longer and the Japanese maples transform in to the most amazing vivid colours.
It will be a while before we see those spectacular tones I expect but it will come faster than we think as time seems to be flying by!
