Final Week Of May 2025

May has flown by at record speed this year (although I always catch myself saying that) – its such a wonderful month in the garden as the colours and flowers are so vivid and so abundant!

There are so many azaleas that have flowered already and many that are in bloom now.

A select few usually hold off for June but the vast majority tend to grace the garden in May.

The Japanese maples are now in full leaf everywhere in the garden and the pruning is already needed to maintain some of the layered views that our visitors so appreciate – in a matter of weeks those viewing spaces can quickly become mobbed by new foliage growing in to the much needed spaces. The gardeners are always so busy during the growing months for this reason – and about a million other reasons too!

Yesterday I managed to steal a few minutes to visit the garden and capture a few photos – pictured below –
