Easter weekend 2023 and how lucky have we been with the weather!

Normal opening times everyday over this weekend and on bank holiday Monday – 10am until 6pm daily – last entry to the garden 5pm.

Its been sunny skies and warmer temperatures all week leading up to this weekend and with Easter Sunday tomorrow we are all feeling very lucky to have seen so many blue skies this week.

The garden has literally been bursting into life with flower buds everywhere and blooms opening up daily giving the garden a vivid pop of colour at every turn.

The flowers always steal the show at this time of year – especially the cherry blossoms! The Mount Fuji cherries that were sensational as always this year are now past their best but the other white cherry tree by the pond is now looking wonderful and the pink cherries are covered with flower buds and a couple of fluffy, pink blossoms are now on show. Another few days or a week (depending on the weather) and we will see them in full splendour!

The cherries do tend to take centre stage in early spring but there are several azaleas making their beautiful presence known now too – the dwarf pinks are looking good and the purple azalea across the pond is soon to be at peak too.

Now is also a great time to come and see the Japanese maples which are all opening their brightly coloured new baby leaves. Some are further ahead then others but everything is beginning to look colourful and branches are starting to look fuller.

Its a wonderful time of year to see the garden and the feeling is always so positive and full of hope in springtime.
